Shiv Sena calls for ‘Compulsory Sterilisation’ of Muslims, again

Mumbai, Dec 06, 2018 : Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamna called for immediate measures to ‘control’ the Muslim population in its editorial – one of the measures includes compulsory sterilisation, Yahoonews reported.

 

It referred to a report of BSP that said the Msulim population had increased in Rajasthan villages that share the border with Pakistan, and said the Centre should initiate measures to keep a check on the trend, as reported by Times of India.

In 2015, in another editorial of the mouthpiece, the Sena advocated compulsory family planning for Muslims and Christians to check their “rising” populations.

“By only increasing the population, one can try and convert the country into Pakistan, but cannot give quality and healthy life to one’s family,” the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ally in Maharashtra said.

The Sena, in 2015, had backed the views of vice president of All India Hindu Mahasabha Sadhvi Deva Thakur on the issue though it did say that her choice of words may have been wrong.

"“The population of Muslims and Christians is growing day by day. To rein this in, Centre will have to impose emergency, and Muslims and Christians will have to be forced to undergo sterilisation so that they can’t increase their numbers.”" - Sadhvi Deva Thakur

The Sena had said: "Sadhvi is not as educated as the Owaisi brothers (of AIMIM), thus may have chosen wrong words to convey her message. One can ignore her sterilisation words, but the fact is, their (Muslim, Christian) population and family planning remains a problem."
