Ravi borrowed Rs 10 lakh from Rohini Sindhuri to buy property

Bengaluru, March 26, 2015, DHNS: IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri, batchmate of D K Ravi who died under mysterious circumstances on March 16, has reportedly told the police that he had borrowed Rs 10 lakh from her family for buying property.

D K Ravi.According to highly placed sources, in a voluntary statement given to the police on March 18, Rohini said that Ravi had informed her of his plans to buy 100 acres.

Following Ravi’s request, Rohini’s husband had deposited Rs 10 lakh into the account of R&H Properties in September, sources said quoting her statement.

Incidentally, the last WhatsApp message from Ravi is said to have been sent to Rohini at 9:50 am on the day of his death. According to sources, Ravi had explained his love for Rohini and thanked her for being his best friend. He is also said to have mentioned that death was the only solution for him as he cannot live peacefully without her.

A day before his death, Ravi had messaged Rohini that he will be taking a nasty decision. He also asked Rohini not to disclose his love for her and stated that if there was a next life, they will be together. Rohini had advised him not to do anything stupid, sources added.

Referring to the financial transaction between them, Rohini stated that when she and her husband met Ravi in Kolar during his stint as the deputy commissioner, he had requested them for some money for investment purpose.

Later, Ravi had asked them for more money but the couple did not heed to his request, sources said.

When Rohini questioned him about the need for such a large amount of money, Ravi reportedly told her about his plans to buy 100 acres and his intention to take loans and investments from others for the project.

Rohini is said to have told Ravi that it was not an easy job and warned him on several occasions, the sources said.

After learning about Ravi’s death on March 16, Rohini reportedly contacted Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Rohini Katoch Sepat the same night and Police Commissioner M N Reddi the next morning.

On March 18, after the case was handed over to the CID, she voluntarily approached Deputy Inspector General of Police (CID) Soumendu Mukherjee and asked him to record her statement, sources added.
