Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 03, 2014: The son of a Kerala CPM leader is in the dock for describing as ’good news’ the murder of RSS worker KT Manoj earlier this week.
Writing on social networking website Facebook, Jain Raj, the son of CPM leader P Jayarajan, said, "I have been waiting to hear this good news for a long time. Salutations, dear comrades. Feeling excited."
Jain, who lives in the Gulf, wrote the message on Facebook at 2:30 pm on Tuesday. However, he deleted the post after allegedly receiving threats.
The screenshot of the Facebook post has, meanwhile, gone viral.
Defending his remarks in later posts, Jain said a group of men including Manoj had attacked is father some 14 years ago.
Reacting to Jain’s remarks, state BJP president V Muraleedharan reportedly said, "A person who wrote a Facebook post on a murder should be booked. It shows that he could have a role in the murder plan. It is abominable to congratulate killers."
Manoj (42), a district office-bearer of RSS, was hacked to death by a gang that attacked him in politically-volatile Kathirur in Kannur district in north Kerala on Monday. Two others were injured, one of them seriously, in the attack
