Viraj had filed a similar report at Abu Road railway station in Rajasthan in which he mentioned that he was a resident of Ahmedabad. However, when the Abu Road police inquired with his wife, she declined of any such theft.

Sources said the culprit also managed to get a big amount of money from a local BJP leader in Jalna in Rajasthan narrating a fake theft story.

Mohan Yadav told HT that the youth was talking with such confidence that he could not find out that he was a fraudster. Not only the MLA, even GRP officials believed him.

GRP in-charge Deepak Shejwar said efforts are on to catch the youth after which further action would follow.

Earlier to it, he had also saught ‘help’ from former Ratlam MLA Paras Saklecha who confirmed that he had received a call from him and said that he had given the number of Mohan Yadav to him.
