Kolkata, Jan 20, 2020: West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has hit back at the BJP leader Dilip Ghosh over his series of comments on the Citizens Amendment Act (CAA) and said that "the more Ghosh speaks inappropriate, the more helpful it will be for the TMC".
The comment by Partha Chatterjee comes after BJP’s controversial Bengal president Dilip Ghosh on Sunday said that 50 lakh Muslim infiltrators will be identified and "chased out of the country" if needed.
"The people of the state are safe because they have Mamata Banerjee," Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee asserted.
Partha Chatterjee, to this, said that "Mamata Banerjee never divided the nation. She worked for the people, stayed by their side forever".
"Mamata Banerjee never divided the nation. She worked for the people, stayed by their side forever. Other political leaders are fighting for power. We are in a position to fight against NRC,NPR and CAA to retain the citizenship the people of Bengal. We will fight united," Partha Chatterjee said.
The Bengal education minister also said that the BJP and its members behave as if "they are the only Hindus".
"We [TMC] want to promote a secular culture, where everyone is free to follow their own belief," Chatterjee said.
"According to BJP, whoever protests against them are anti-national. Our economy is at stake, the value of money is depreciating, the rate of employment has increased to maximum, industries are being closed down, farmers are attempting suicide. Even after all of this if they consider the nation to be progressing then that’s a lie," Partha Chatterjee added.
Partha Chatterjee said that there are drawbacks in the social fabric of the nation that need to be fought while adding that "giving wonderfully curved speeches might give temporary fame but it won’t help in removing the evils of the society".
