"50 lakh toilets have already been constructed. We will achieve the target of building six crore toilets," Jaitley said.

Calling the Swachh Bharat mission a programme to "rejuvenate India", the Finance Minister said, echoing what Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had said on Thursday as he presented the Rail Budget.

Prabhu’s Budget also had a huge focus on the Clean India campaign, which he stressed by saying clean trains, stations and other amenities will be given high priority.

Modi had lauded Prabhu’s Budget, calling it forward looking, futuristic and passenger centric budget with a combination of clear vision and a definite plan to achieve it.

Presenting the Union Budget in Lok Sabha, Jaitley said that success of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, coal auctions and Swatch Bharat were among key achievements of the work done by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government since it came to office in May last year.
