Kuwait store sticks Googly eyes on fish to make them look fresh; Police shuts their supply

Mangalore Today News Network

Kuwait, Sep 03, 2018  : It seems that each retailer is only trying to convince us to put more in the carts with mostly expired food. Sometimes milk is totally fine a few days as the expiration date is listed, other times not so much! The incredibly gross reality today is almost all the stores try to fool customers and purposely sell items which are rotten. Be it vegetables or raw meat; they are being labelled for not being fresh at all to eat. And a store in Kuwait whose supply has been shut by the police is no exception. A Kuwaiti newspaper uploaded pictures on Twitter which reveals one of the fishes with googly eyes. The reason to stick that to show that they are fresh to cook.

Looking at the image, the Twitter users were in disbelief at the creativeness of the store’s owners. But they have learnt a life-long lesson as the store has reportedly been shut down by the cops soon after the discovery. Also, it is essential for us as well to take a note here and be more cautious while we assume to buy fresh foods from the markets.

Kuwait store sticks googly eyes on fish! Interestingly, Kuwait appeared in the national headlines last month for selling imported shrimps through an auction which were found unfit for human consumption. Thankfully, the country’s Fishermen Union destroyed about 450 kilos of shrimp at the fish market in Souq Sharq, which is said to be a major shopping centre in the Kuwait City. Various videos surfaced on social media showing the shrimps being washed at the market. With such incidents, we really need to be very alert while purchasing any and every food item.
