kumrswamyAddressing a press conference here, Kumaraswamy said the woman went to meet chief minister along with her two children. She was made to wait for long till 8 pm, only to be  packed off to a women’s rehabilitation centre at Madivala. “She was warned that she would be disrobed and also threatened that she would be handcuffed and sent to the Parappana Agrahara jail. Her husband, an autorickshaw driver was beaten black and blue and the owner of the autorickshaw was asked to remove him from the job. I will be summoning her to the Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday to narrate the incident before media’.

The JD(S) leader said that the High Ground police in Bengaluru had stated the woman was found to be suspicious and was thus sent to a rehabilitation centre. “The government seems to be forcing women to take to flesh trade,” said Kumaraswamy.

On Governor
Without taking the name of Governor Vajubai Vala, Kumaraswamy demanded a probe into the latter’s ‘weekly sojourn’ to his home state of Gujarat. Nobody knows what does he take home from Karnataka. He is here for business and not for people’s welfare,” he remarked.

Kumaraswamy said he has convened a meeting of the JD(S) leaders in Bengaluru on May 26 to select the party’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections from the state.
Commenting on the media reports that Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwara had shed tears over Congress’ poor show in the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal and Assam, Kumaraswamy said “Parameshwara may have shed tears fearing similar results in the state in the coming assembly polls.’
