India reports 11,713 coronavirus cases, 95 deaths; caseload at 1.08 crore

New Delhi, Feb 06, 2021:     India on Saturday reported 11,713 fresh coronavirus cases and 95 deaths in a span of 24 hours beginning Friday, as per the Union health ministry. With over 11,000 increase in the number of coronavirus-infected patients in the country, the caseload has climbed to 1,08,14,304.

 

India also registered 14,488 discharges in the past 24 hours, as per the Union health ministry, taking the total number of discharges at 1,05,10,796. The death toll due to the coronavirus infection has climbed to 1,54,918. The active coronavirus cases in the country stands at 1,48,590.

A total of 54,16,849 beneficiaries have been inoculated under the countrywide coronavirus vaccination exercise, while India’s total active cases have dropped to 1.51 lakh, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.

India’s total active cases continue to follow a consistent downward slide consisting of just 1.40 per cent of total infections. Following a downward trajectory, 12,408 daily new cases were recorded in a span of 24 hours.

The health ministry said 17 states and UTs have a lower case per million population than the national average. Lakshadweep has the lowest average of 1,722 cases per million among all states and UTs.
