New Delhi, May 27, 2015: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday made a scathing attack on Congress by saying that extra-Constitutional authorities were "really wielding" power during the 10-year UPA rule.

The Prime Minister mocked at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s jibe of ’suit-boot ki sarkar’, saying that the Congress has not been able to digest its crushing defeat in Lok Sabha polls even after a year.

Rejecting criticism of concentration of power in the PMO, Modi said, "Prime Minister and PMO are very much part of the constitutional scheme, not outside it”.

Commenting on the issue of banning NGOs by the Home Ministry, the PM justified his government’s move, saying that no action was taken contrary to the law and no patriotic citizen can object to the steps taken.

Expressing his views on the contentious GST and the Land Acquisition Bill, PM Modi maintained that passage of both the bills are a matter of time.

“Any suggestions on land bill favouring the poor, the farmer and villages will be accepted by the government,” the PM further added.

Assuring full freedom to minorities in the country, the PM said any violence or discrimination against any community will not be tolerated.

Slamming the opposition’s hullabaloo over his foreign trips, PM Modi said that baseless allegations are being levelled regarding his foreign visits.

The PM asserted that his government’s focus will be on pro-active, pro-people good governance reforms.
