"Siddaramaiah is the chief minister of a state, he has intelligence inputs and information that is not available with us. You can seek clarification from him," Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan told reporters here, when asked to comment on Siddaramaiah’s remarks. He described BJP president Amit Shah’s remarks terming the Karnataka government "anti-Hindu" as strange. "People of Karnataka will decide whether elections can be won by making such statements," he said.

’Solid leader’

Earlier this week, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had expressed full confidence in the chief minister describing him as a "solid leader".

Addressing a rally in Chitradurga district on Wednesday, Shah charged the government with perpetrating atrocities against BJP and RSS workers, claiming 20 of them were killed in the state over the last three years.

Siddaramaiah had on Wednesday said that the BJP, RSS and the Bajrang Dal had terrorists in their organisations, a charge rubbished by the BJP.
