Bangalore techie jumps to death after circulating suicide video on WhatsApp

Bengaluru, Nov 28, 2014: A 27-year-old software engineer committed suicide by jumping off an under-construction building in Bangalore on Thursday.

The deceased, Rajesh Choudhary, a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar was working with Cognizant, an IT company in the city.

Quoting Choudhary’s relatives, police said that Rajesh had been depressed for some time and had shown suicidal tendencies in the past too.

Before committing suicide, Choudhary, had met his relatives who live near Kudlu Gate area in the morning and had told them about his intention to commit suicide.

According to the eyewitnesses at the suicide spot, Choudhary jumped from the fourth floor of the building despite several attempts by police and fire brigade staff to stop him.

The man also shot a video while standing on top of the building and circulated it on WhatsApp before jumping off the building. The video shows him walking towards the edge of the building.

Police are investigating to find out the exact reason behind the suicide as they have not found any suicide note from the spot.
