Built of mud, the 50 year old  building was leaning dangerously and crashed within minutes of developing huge cracks, eyewitnesses said.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (K R Puram) Siddappa said all residents of the building have been accounted for and none was trapped under the debris. Rescue teams were clearing the debris till late in the night.  The BBMP has announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the next of kin of the dead and Rs 25,000 to each of the injured.
