Sources said Tiwari returned to his house in the morning after a night shift. After some time, group captain Sanjeev Kumar called Tiwari for some work but the latter did not answer his phone. Then the group captain sent his guard to call Tiwari. The guard found the officer dead in his vehicle with a gunshot wound on his forehead.

Investigative officer inspector Subhash Chander said they were waiting for the post-mortem report. It is learnt that Tiwari was pulled up by his senior officer during a conference on Tuesday. The air force has ordered a court of inquiry into the incident.
