narendra modiThe campaign is most likely to be launched on February 14.

As part of the project, new libraries would be opened across the country so that people from all walks of life get access to various books. However, as for now, the study centres are expected to come up in villages adopted by parliamentarians under the ’Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana’.

The Human Research Development (HRD) Ministry, headed by Smriti Irani, will be tasked with supervising the mega project.

However, it is still not clear as to from where the funds for the plan would come.

Reports say that final modalities are still being worked out for the campaign which is PM Modi’s brainchild.

In the past, the Prime Minister has launched several noble initiatives like ’Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’, ’Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna’, ’Swachh Bharat Mission’ and ’Good Governance Day’.

Under the ’Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’, the PM has requested all Members of Parliament (MPs) to develop one model village in their constituency by 2016 and two more by 2019.

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna enables all households, urban and rural to gain easy and universal access to financial services. In this mission, households will not only have bank accounts with indigenous RuPay Debit cards but will also gain access to credit for economic activity and to insurance and pension services for their social security.

As part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, launched by PM Modi on October 02, 2014, citizens were asked to change their mindsets as cleaning is not only the responsibility of safai karamcharis. The ambitious drive includes sweeping, removal of garbage, debris and unauthorised encroachments from the roads, markets and residential places. The campaign is aimed at making India a clean country by 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Good Governance Day was celebrated on the 90th birthday of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee (December 25). The Modi government has promised to provide a transparent and accountable administration which works for the betterment and welfare of the common citizen.
