16-year-old Thrashed, stripped, Brutalised with Beer bottles in Delhi

New Delhi, May 27, 2016:  A 16-year-old boy was beaten, stripped and brutalized allegedly by a group of drunk men in southwest Delhi’s Inderpuri area. The assault was even filmed by one of the attackers and shared.

Six people were arrested after the mobile video surfaced on Thursday, the police said. The boy’s attackers had accused him of theft.

In disturbing footage, the boy is heard begging and screaming as he is stripped and tortured with a beer bottle. His hands and legs were tied and he was thrashed.

The police said the teen was forced to walk naked in the colony for a while but add that the video is yet to be verified.

The assault on Monday was reported only two days later. The boy’s family says he did not return for a long time after the attack and tried to kill himself.

"They caught me, beat me up and accused me of stealing. They shut me up in an office and didn’t tell my parents where I was," the boy told reporters.

The police have filed cases of assault and wrongful confinement against the attackers, who are all from the same colony.

"The medico-legal counselling report of the boy doesn’t suggest any sexual assault," said senior police officer Surender Kumar.
