Woman stabs man to death in MP’s Guna, accuses him of raping her for 15 years

Bhopal, Oct 17, 2020: Madhya Pradesh police have arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing a man at least 25 times after he attempted to rape her on the night of October 12. The incident took place in Guna, over 200 km from state capital Bhopal.

The deceased has been identified as one Brijbhushan Sharma, a resident of Ashok Nagar.

Police have booked the woman under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). She was produced before a court on Wednesday.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, it was the woman who approached the police and informed them about the crime.

In her statement, the woman alleged that the deceased had been raping her since 2005.

The woman told police that the deceased was her neighbour when she was 16-years-old. He raped her first in 2005 and used a video of the act to blackmail her all these years.

Police officials familiar with the case told the national daily that the deceased continued to blackmail the woman even after she got married to a man in MP’s Guna.

On Monday night, he arrived at her home when her husband was out working in another district. The woman claimed that the deceased, who was under the influence of alcohol, tried to rape her with her two children sleeping in the next room. This is when she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him to death in a fit of anger. She then immediately approached the police and admitted to her crime.
