Uber driver arrested for misbehaving with woman passenger

Kolkata, August 26, 2015: Another UBER cab driver has been arrested in Kolkata for allegedly misbehaving with a woman passenger.

The driver, identified as one Md Qurban was arrested after a lady passenger lodged a complaint at Survey park police station in south Kolkata.

The incident took place late on Tuesday night. The lady who works for a media company in Kolkata had booked the Uber cab from Camac Street to Survery park.

According to the complainant, the driver allegedly took a detour and even used abusive language against her.

The driver has been arrested under sections 504, 506 and 509 of IPC.

This is the second such incident in Kolkata in recent weeks. Earlier in July, another UBER driver was arrested for allegedly ’masturbating’ before a female passenger.
