shobaBangalore, Nov 9: Shobha Karandlaje, minister for rural development and panchayat raj, resigned from the B.S. Yeddyurappa government as per a compromise formula worked out between the chief minister and the rebels led by the Reddy brothers.

Yeddyurappa sent the resignation of Karandlaje, considered to be his close associate, to Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj for acceptance.

The BJP had on Sunday announced that a compromise had been reached between Yeddyurappa and the rebels, who had led an extended campaign for the chief minister’s ouster.

As per the compromise formula, a coordination committee would be formed to oversee the work of the state government and Yeddyurappa was expected to remove Karandlaje. He was also expected to induct Speaker Jagadish Shettar into the Cabinet.
