RTI activist shot at in Delhi’s Mayur Vihar Phase-2, 5 shots fired

New Delhi, Sep 26, 2016: A RTI activist was shot at in Delhi’s Mayur Vihar area on Sunday last night.

According to reports, RTI activist Surjit Singh was trying to unearth corrupt dealings of many builders in the Pandav Nagar area.

Two unknown people, who came on a bike, fired five rounds of at the RTI activist near the police chowki on Sunday night, police said.

Surjit Singh said, "A person named Dama, from the last few days, was threatening to kill me. I had even submitted a written complaint with the DSP east."

The police has now registered a case and has started the investigation.
