Outsiders, few politicians involved in Delhi violence: CM Kejriwal

Delhi, Feb 26, 2020: Addressing the Parliament amid the escalating violence in northeast Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday, 26 February, said the people do not want violence, Yahoo reported.

“All this has not been done by the ’aam aadmi’. This has been done by some anti-social, political and external elements. Hindus and Muslims in Delhi never want to fight,” Kejriwal added.

Meanwhile, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Wednesday visited Maujpur in northeast Delhi to take stock of the situation in the area. “The situation is totally under control,” Doval said.

The number of deaths following violence in northeast Delhi rose to 23 on Wednesday. The court directed setting up helplines for victims, and that private ambulances be provided for the safe passage of victims.
