Mumbai, Sep 2, 2011: A Turkish Airways flight arriving from Istanbul to Mumbai veered off a rapid exit taxiway after landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai at 0413 hrs this morning.

air2Flight TK-720 had 97 people on board; no casualties or injuries have been reported.

Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd. said all emergency procedures were immediately activated and passengers were disembarked safely and taken to the terminal.

The incident happened close to the main runway and caused two flight diversions and delays in arrivals and departures. The main runway has been shut as a precautionary measure. The other runway is operational, but there is an average delay of 15 minutes in arrivals and 30 minutes in departures.

Operations were suspended at the airport briefly this morning - between 8.40 am and 8.52 am - due to low visibility. They have resumed now.
