Mumbai: 20-year-old dental student commits suicide

Mumbai, September 13, 2017: A 20-year-old girl on Tuesday committed suicide by hanging herself in Nair Hospital hostel in Mumbai. Kumari Bhagya Laxmi, a second-year student of Bachelor of Dental Science course at Nair Hospital Dental College hanged herself in her hostel room, police said.

She was rushed to KEM hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead.

The incident came to light around 1 pm when her friends found that she had locked the door from inside and wasn’t responding to their calls.

The Residents Doctors Association said that Laxmi was under tremendous pressure because of her studies.

Kumari Bhagya Laxmi hailed from Ichalkaranji in Maharashtra.

An accidental death report has been registered at Kalachowki police station.
