Model allegedly raped inside Police Post in Mumbai, 3 Cops Arrested

Mumbai, april 24:  3 policemen are among six arrested for allegedly raping a 29-year-old model inside a police chowki (post) in Sakinaka in the western part Mumbai. The cops - two assistant police inspectors and a constable - also allegedly extorted Rs. 4.5 lakh from the woman.

 

The incident came to light after the woman, who had allegedly fled the city fearing harassment, finally complained to Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria on Tuesday.

The accused also include a woman.

A First Information Report was registered at the MIDC Police Station based on the woman’s complaint. The case has been handed over to the Crime Branch.

As per Mr Maria’s instruction, an officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police will monitor the case, said Dhananjay Kulkarni, Spokesperson of Mumbai Police.
