Mine barons pose constant head ache to BJP

Mangalore Today News Network

Reddy brothers 2DELHI, Nov 3: The BJP leadership is rattling its brains to arrive at some definite conclusion with regard to the ongoing crisis in the party’s first ever government in the South. Though a solution seemed to be in the offing on Monday night, when the party high command made it clear that there can be no change in leadership in Karnataka,a statement made by the rebel leader and mine baron Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday, has turned everything upside down. Reddy said  the rebels were firm in their demand for a change in leadership in the better interests of the state and that so far he had no information from anyone that there would be no change in leadership, making  it once again clear that the mine barons were in no mood to arrive at a consensus on the issue nor were willing to allow Yaddyurappa to continue in power as the chief minister.

It is an open secret that the BJP could rise to power for the first time in  Karnataka, thanks to the money power of the highly influential Reddy brothers who had dumped enough for the party’s success.

The party leadership, as of now, seems to be backing Yaddyurappa, even as both the rival camps are claiming that they are enjpoying the support of nearly 60 MLAs.

Meanwhile, in Bangalore, loyalists of Chief Minister Yaddyurappa are learnt to be thronging his residence, apparently in a bid of show of strength to the rival camp as well as to the high command.
