Medical expenses of Siddaganga Seer to be borne by K’taka Government

Bengaluru, Dec 07, 2018 : Shivakumara Swami, the 111-year-old pontiff of Siddaganga Mutt was airlifted to Chennai on Friday. The seer will be undergoing advanced treatment at the Dr Rela International Multispecialty hospital for his recurring liver tube infection.

A decision to airlift the seer was taken by the team of doctors who had arrived at the Mutt, on Thursday and convinced the Swamiji to undergo a permanent treatment for his liver ailment at the Chennai hospital after conducting various tests.

After news  about seer being hospitalised , Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said that the Swamiji’s medical bills would be footed by the state government. While interacting with the media on Friday in Shringeri, HDK said, “The doctors are examining the Swamiji for minor complications in his health. ” He also said that the government would take care of all the seer’s medical expenses. He added that the chief secretary has been instructed to give regular updates regarding the Swamiji’s treatment.
