Jet Airways staffer held for smuggling gold from Dubai

Mumbai, September 25, 2015: A 25-year-old cabin crew member of the Jet Airways was held at Mumbai airport on Thursday for allegedly smuggling gold from Dubai.

The authorities found gold bars worth Rs 27 lakhs on a couch at Mumbai airport. Following the screening of CCTV footage, the authorities zeroed in on Deepak Pandey, who was seen dumping the gold bars to avoid arrest.

The accused, working as a cabin crew member with Jet Airways, was travelling in flight number 9W-543 from Dubai to Mumbai. During interrogation, Pandey has confessed to the crime and said he was promised Rs 50,000 for the task.
