New Delhi, March 01, 2016: The Supreme Court, Tuesday, agreed to hear a plea seeking quashing of criminal case against Gujarat policemen involved in Ishrat Jahan encounter case in view of Headley’s statements

ishrat-jahanThe court was responding to a plea filed by advocate ML Sharma. He filed the plea in light of the revelations by David Headley that Ishrat Jahan was a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist.

He also demanded that the cops be compensated.

Sharma had moved the apex court, yesterday, seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against former Home Minister P Chidambaram for allegedly filing a ‘false’ affidavit in the Ishrat fake encounter case.
