Bengaluru, Jan 23, 2015 (DHNS): Former minister Gali Janardhana Reddy was released from Parappana Agrahara prison on Friday two days after he was granted bail by the Supreme Court. He spent more than three years in prison for allegedly carrying out large scale illegal mining in and around Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Janardhan reddyHe is headed to Parijatha apartments near Chalukya circle, said sources.

Reddy’s family and supporters gathered in huge number outside the Parappana Agrahara prison to give a roaring welcome to their leader.

The police, in order to prevent any untoward incidents, had beefed up security around Parappana Agrahara and prohibitory orders had been clamped within a radius of half a kilometer from the prison.

Initially, he was expected to walk out of the jail on Thursday. However, it didn’t happen as the execution of a surety before the CBI special court in Bengaluru could not be completed on time.
