IAF jet Tejas crashes near Jaisalmer, pilot ejects safely

Jaisalmer, March 12, 2024:  According to news agency ANI, a Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) belonging to the Indian Air Force crashed near Jaisalmer on Tuesday during an operational training sortie. Fortunately, the pilot successfully ejected.

In response to the incident, a Court of Inquiry has been initiated to determine the cause of the crash.

This incident coincides with the ongoing ’Bharat Shakti’ exercise, showcasing the capabilities of domestically manufactured defense equipment across all three military branches, taking place at Rajasthan’s Pokhran firing range. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Army Chief General Manoj Pande are among the dignitaries attending the event.
