I S N Prasad replaces Baligar as principal secretary

YediyurappaBangalore, Nov 6: Heeding to one of the main demands of the rebel Reddy brothers,Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has dropped his Principal Secretary VS Baligar. Baligar is learnt to have been transferred to the Department of Industries and Commerce. Meanwhile, ISN Prasad would replace Baligar as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. The dissidents however are far from satisfied with the latest move and are firm in their demand that Yeddyurappa stepped down.

 


 

K’tka’s BJP battle continues; Yeddy-Reddys to hold press meet today

YeddiNew Delhi, Nov 6: The tussle within the ruling BJP in Karnataka continued even on Thursday, even as reports came in that nearly 52MLAs of the state owing allegiance to  the rebel Reddy brothers faxing  their resignations to Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy who is in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yeddyurappa who was to hold a cabinet meeting on Friday, has cancelled the same in the wake of the sudden developments. Reports also suggested that the rebel mine barons have turned down the compromise formula suggested by the BJP leadership.

Latest reports say that Chief Minister Yeddyurappa and the Reddy brothers are to hold a joint press conference in New Delhi today, wherein they would announce the solution to the present crisis.

Reports coming in have also indicated that the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary VP Baligar whose removal, the dissidents have been demanding, has been transferred. However, this news is yet to be confirmed.

On Thursday, the BJP leadership also suggested the Karnataka CM to sack his confidante and State Minister for Panchayatraj and Rural Development Shobha Karandlaje.

However, the dissidents it is learnt may not be satisfied even if Baligar and Shobha were sacked and would be firm in their demand for a change in chief ministerhip.

But Yeddyurappa has expressed confidence that all issues would be resolved and that he  would stay on as the chief minister. At the same time, he adds that he would abide by whatever  decision the high command took.
