Heavy security at Sushma Swaraj’s residence ahead of Congress protest

New Delhi, June 15, 2015: A huge political slugfest broke out between the Opposition-led by Congress and the BJP-led NDA government on Sunday following media reports regarding External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj expediting travel documents of former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi.

 

The Congress and other Opposition parties asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Sushma Swaraj moments after a report in an UK English daily revealed that Swaraj had helped Lalit Modi to get his travel documents approved.

According to a report in the Sunday Times, Labour MP Keith Vaz used Swaraj’s name to put pressure on the UK’s top immigration official to grant British travel papers to Modi.
