Senior advocates Gaurav Bhatia, representing BJP, and Kapil Sibal, representing the West Bengal government led by Trinamool Congress, presented their cases in the court on Monday.

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bansal had filed a PIL over the alleged political killings in West Bengal. Kapil Sibal opposed the plea saying the court must examine if a political party should be allowed to file PILs.

CJI SA Bobde said, "We are quite aware that opposite sides are using the court as forum to settle political score, both sides."

The Supreme Court bench pulled up both advocate Kapil Sibal and Gaurav Bhatia for making political statements in the court.

CJI Bobde said, "It will be better if both of you can go to a TV channel and settle scores there."

Meanwhile, Supreme Court has asked the West Bengal government to file a detailed response within four weeks on the petition filed by the family of slain BJP worker, Dulal Kumar, asking for a CBI probe into his death.
