Chikkaballapur, June 17, 2014:  Former Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister ‎Veerappa Moily seems to be facing a rebellion within his party with a Congress leader from his constituency seeking a CBI probe on him in connection with the Reliance gas pricing controversy.

moily Anjanappa, chief of the Chikkaballapur unit of the party, has alleged that several crores of rupees were involved in the alleged scam and hence a probe had to be initiated against the then oil minister.

He sought the intervention of both the state and Union governments in this regard.

The demand for the CBI probe is being viewed as spill-over of the rebellion which started when Moily was issued a ticket to contest the Chikkaballapur seat.

Anjanappa had staked a claim on the party ticket, but the High Command overlooked his candidature. His supporters had even vandalised Moily’s office.

Moily though went on to win the Chikkaballapur parliamentary seat.
