Fire erupts in Kolkata due to Ammonia gas leak

Kolkata, Jan 10: A major fire broke out at Maniktala area in Kolkata after Ammonia gas leaked from an ice plant on Monday.

The fire erupted after the gas spread to an adjacent cotton godown

Over 20 fire engines have been rushed to the spot. The firefighters are trying to douse the fire. The fire has not been able to be brought under control.

Thick smoke has sorrounded the area due to which the firefighters are facing difficulty in controling the fire.

The people of that area have been shifted to safer places.

However, no causalities have been reported so far.
