Delhi Uber cab driver found guilty of rape

New Delhi 20 Oct, 2015 : All charges have been proved against Shiv Kumar Yadav. He was charged under various sections of the IPC for alleged offences of endangering a woman’s life while raping her, kidnapping with intent to compel her for marriage, criminally intimidating and causing hurt.

A Delhi court on Tuesday convicted accused Uber cab driver for raping a passenger in December last year. The court will pronounce quantum of punishment on October 23.

All charges have been proved against Yadav. He was charged under various sections of the IPC for alleged offences of endangering a woman’s life while raping her, kidnapping with intent to compel her for marriage, criminally intimidating and causing hurt.

The incident took place on the night of December 5 last year when the victim, a finance executive working in Gurgaon, was heading back home to Delhi. Accused driver Shiv Kumar Yadav was arrested on December 7, 2014 from Mathura and is currently under judicial custody.
