Cow vigilantism continues, mob attacks six men in Delhi

Bengaluru, Jul 8 2017, DH: Barely a week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed cow vigilantism related violence after it was highlighted through nationwide protests titled #NotInMyName, six men transporting Buffaloes were allegedly assaulted by a mob in the nation’s capital.

The incident occurred in South Delhi’s Baba Haridas Nagar on Friday night according to various media reports who cited police sources as saying.

A mob allegedly pelted stones on the cattle transporters and released the livestock which was being stored in six to seven pickup vans.

A victim identified as Ali Jaan, 40 has reportedly been seriously injured. Although the mob has not yet been identified, media sources claim that they are local residents of nearby Jharoda Kalan.
