Cops crack down on fake currency racket; 6 arrested

Bangalore, March 31, 2015, DHNS: The City Crime Branch police have arrested six persons on Monday while they were trying to transport counterfeit notes.

 

Based on a tip off, the CCB police way laid their car near A Nararayanapura junction in Mahadevapura police limits. They seized Rs 9.13 lakh worth counterfeit notes, Rs 1.72 lakh cash and a car. 

The police said that 399 notes of Rs 1,000 denomination and 1,028 notes of Rs 500 denomination have been seized.  The police suspect that the notes were printed in Pakistan and transported to Bangladesh and then illegally brought to India.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
