Congress demands railway minister’s resignation after rape case against son

Bangalore, Aug 28, 2014:  Congress workers on Thursday staged protests in Bangalore against Union Minister Sadananda Gowda and his son Kartik Gowda, who has been booked in a rape and cheating case.

congress workersThey demanded that Gowda must resign as the Railway Minister following the case against his son, registered by a small-time Kannada model and actor on Wednesday.

"The railway minister must step down and the girl should get justice," said Congress worker R. Sampath during the protest against the Gowdas.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah refused to talk much when newspersons approached him for his reaction. "Law will take its own course," he said.

Soon after Karthik got engaged to a woman at a ceremony in Kodagu district on Wednesday, the actress claimed that she was married to the minister’s son.

The minister, however, alleged that his son has been falsely implicated. He also assured that he would not interfere in the matter.
