While Delhi has seven Lok Sabha seats, Haryana elects 10 members to the Parliament. Both Delhi and Haryana will go to polls on 12 May.

This comes two days after Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that his party was “open and flexible” to alliances nationally, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Congress Promises Full Statehood to Delhi

The Congress has reportedly agreed to amend its manifesto and promise to grant full statehood to Delhi, excluding the NDMC areas.

Until full statehood becomes a reality, the Congress has agreed that the Delhi Lieutenant Governor will be an elected government nominee, sources said.

While the seat-sharing formula is still under discussion for Delhi, alliance in Punjab is yet to be discussed between the two parties.
