Police said they have found the CCTV footage of the incident that took place on Monday night.

According to a report, police believe the dogs must have dug up the grave and severed the baby’s head.

Banjara Hills Police Inspector, N Kalinga Rao, said the CCTV footage shows the decomposed head of the baby being carried by the animals.

Police went into huddle after they were alerted by the locals that some dogs were seen running away with the head of the baby. Police are also looking for other parts of the child’s body.

A case has been registered under Section 317 (Exposure and abandonment of child under 12 years) in connection with the incident. The body of another baby was found near the graveyard a week back.

Meanwhile, police have ruled out any black magic or sacrifice angle in the incident. Cops say this could be a case of aborted or a stillborn baby buried in the graveyard.

Cops also said that the body may not have been buried properly and the dogs may have dug up the grave and took the baby out.

"There are several slums around the graveyard. In most cases, people who can not afford hospitals conduct deliveries at home. So, in case a baby dies, they bury them in the graveyard. We suspect that could have been the case," the report quoted the police officer as saying.

After the incident, police shifted the baby’s severed head at the Osmania General Hospital.

In a similar incident in September this year, the body of an abandoned baby boy was dragged by street dogs on the road and bitten by them.

The boy suspected to be a week-old was dead before the dogs attacked the baby.
