Bharat Bandh: Rahul Gandhi leads protest in Delhi

New Delhi, Sept. 10, 2018: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday, 10 September arrived at Rajghat in New Delhi to participate in the Bharat Bandh called by the party against rising fuel prices in the country.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi also joined the protest. Top Opposition leaders including Sharad Pawar, Sharad Yadav, Manoj Jha, Somanath Bharti along with Ghulam Nabi Azad and Manoj Sharma were also present.

 

According to the Congress, 21 Opposition parties are supporting the bandh. While bus services were hit in Karnataka, Congress workers stopped trains in Odisha’s Sambalpur. Opposition parties staged protests in various cities in the backdrop of the bandh.

Bus services of North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) have been suspended in the backdrop of Bharat Bandh called by Congress and other Opposition parties against fuel price hike.
