Bengaluru’s first woman cab driver found dead

Bengaluru, June 28, 2016: Bharathi Veerathi,  one of the city’s first woman cab drivers was found dead at her rented house in Nagashettyhalli, Bengaluru on Monday.

Bharathi was staying alone in her house.  Landlord, who got suspicious after noticing her car parked in front of the house, found Bharathi hanging from the ceiling fan.

The Sanjay Nagar police inspector Prakash told  Bharathi’s body was found hanging in her room by a rope and it appears to be a case of suicide.

No suicide note was found in her house. Police shifted the body to a state-run hospital for autopsy.
