The move is seen as attempt to woo Dalit voters in the poll-bound states which is likely to witness Assembly elections early next year.

According to a report in the Times of India, the campaign, led by former Rajya Sabha member Dr Dhamma Viriyo Mahathera, it will end in Lucknow on October 14.

The campaign, titled as ’Dhamma Chakra Yatra’, is being directly monitored by the PMO. It was flagged off by Union Home Minister Rajanth Singh at Sarnath on Sunday.

The four-phased campaign, involving about 70-80 monks, will be visiting over 70 districts of the states in next six months.
