Assam death toll rises to 76, Rajnath to visit Sonitpur

Dec 25, 2014: The death toll in Assam rose to 76, including  3 people who got killed during police firing.

As per TV reports, Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be visiting the violence hit Sonitpur today.

The Home Minister is going to take stock of the situation.

Around 250 people are reported missing, as per reports.

The massacre in Assam began when anti-talks Songbijit faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) fired on villagers and burnt their houses.
