Anti-BJP leaders gather in K’taka for Kumaraswamy’s swearing-in

Bengaluru, May 24, 2018 : An ‘anti- Bharatiya Janata Party’ sentiment prevailed  at the swearing-in ceremony of JD-S’s H D Kumaraswamy as Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Kumaraswamy was sworn in as the 24th chief minister of the state at Vidhan Soudha, days after BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa resigned from the post after having held it for all of two and a half days.

Governor Vajubhai Vala also administered the oath to Congress leader G. Parameshwara, who took over as Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka.

The ceremony was attended by an array of opposition leaders  including Sonia Gandhi & Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Tejashwi Yadav,  Communist Party of India (M)’s Sitaram Yechury, and Nationalist Congress Party’s Sharad Pawar.
