Bajrang Dal also organised several seminars in colleges with the help of Durga Vahini where young girls were asked not to fall for love jihad.

Jwalit Mehta equated love jihad and Valentine’s Day saying the kind of exchanges that happen between youngsters on Valentine’s Day leads to love jihad.

"Celebrating Valentine’s Day is not in our culture. There are several good things about the western culture that we have adopted - sports like cricket, football etc, but this is not our culture," said Mehta.

Activists have been asked not to indulge in violence and have been advised to demonstrate their stance in peace.

The posters this year are considerably smaller in size and eminently compelling.

Activists plan to move around tomorrow with a saffron lathi (wooden stick) in areas frequented by youngsters to instil fear in them and condemn Valentine’s Day.

Students, meanwhile, are oblivious to this politics. Saurav Patel, a student, told India Today that their demand is not correct.

"People have right to decide on their own what they should or should not do. Love jihad and Valentine’s day are totally independent things," he said.
