6-Year-old girl raped by rickshaw puller in Janakpuri; accused arrested

New Delhi, July 17, 2019 : In another incident of sexual assault, a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a rickshaw-puller in west Delhi’s Janakpuri on Monday. The Incident took place in the early hours of July 15. The accused has been identified as 26-year-old Arun Kumar Das. He hailed from Bihar’s Begusarai district. After the incident, the police swung into action and arrested the accused. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered. Meanwhile, the girl is currently undergoing treatment at a Delhi hospital. Her condition is reported to be out of danger now.

Earlier in March this year, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her tuition teacher’s father in west Delhi’s Punjab Bagh area. After her school, she went to her grandparents’ house and later in the evening went to attend her tuition class where she was allegedly raped by the 55-year-old man.
