5 CRPF jawan dead in terror attack in Anantnag

Srinagar, Jun 12, 2019 : Five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel died after terrorists attacked security forces at KP road in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Wednesday evening. Five others, including a Jammu and Kashmir Station House Officer (SHO), a CRPF jawan and a local woman, were injured in the attack, Zee reported.

A terrorist also died in the exchange of fire. Heavy firing is currently underway.

The attack took place at near Oxford School in Cheegali near General Bus Stand in Anantnag. Two vehicle-borne terrorists, in masks, fired on the troops of B/116 deployed for LO duties.

The SHO is reportedly critically injured and has been shifted to a hospital in Srinagar.
