The two suspects, identified as Parvez Rashid and Jamshed Jahoor from Kashmir’s Shopian, were arrested from the Jama Masjid bus stop on Thursday night and two pistols and ten bullets seized from them, deputy commissioner of police, special cell, PS Kushwaha said, reported ANI.

“Delhi was not a part of their plan, they were just in transit here. They told us that the leader of the outfit (ISJK) is Umar Ibn Nazir and the number 2 leader is Adil Thokar, whose orders they were following,” he said.

Parvez, whose brother was gunned down in an encounter with security forces in January, was initially a member of Hizbul Mujahideen but later joined ISJK, Kushwaha said.

The ISJK is allegedly a relatively new outfit owing an allegiance to IS. The two men have been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
